Movie being produced about funeral director Danny Jefferson

If you ever met funeral director Danny Jefferson then it’s pretty simple knowledge that you have one more friend.  Danny Jefferson, who contributes to these pages every so often with his “Two Guys and a Question” podcast with partner Alan Creedy, is the consummate Southern gentleman and consummate funeral director.

Danny probably has over 50 years experience as a funeral director working for family funeral homes, corporate funeral homes, and owning and operating his own funeral home.  Like all of us, his life is unique.  Danny has also has overcome hearing loss and financial setbacks on his way to being named The American Funeral Director Magazine’s Funeral Director of the Year for 2017.

As a matter of fact, Danny’s life has been so unique that today you will find people from Adler & Associates Entertainment, including actor Kevin Sorbo, in Danny’s backyard filming a movie on his life entitled “Another Life“.  Here’s a recent news clip that featured a local diner in the filming of the movie.

And, here’s the story line as taken from movie website IMDb:  “Danny Jefferson, a funeral director at the end of his ropes reflects on his childhood. With a hearing disability life was difficult. Using his knack for self-ridicule and comedic timing he offset the ridicule. With his disability he struggles to find work but found a job that nobody really aspires to be… a funeral director. The lifestyle of a funeral director takes a toll on his two of his marriages, but he finally finds someone to support his lifestyle and sense of humor. With his newfound love and happiness he is finally recognized for his life’s work by being presented a prestigious award at an international funeral directors event.”

“The Burial” has finished production and was bought by Amazon for distribution. Any distribution date would depend on a variable of factors, but most likely a 2024 release.

Editor’s Response: I have not heard of a release date of the movie “The Burial” referred to in Mr. Forsberg’s question. According to my latest information, that you can find on Wikipedia under “The Burial (film), filming was done in March 2022. It continues to say it will be released by Amazon Studios and the movie had a budget of over $47 million. With the cast featured and the amount spent, you would guess that we would see it soon. In my research I cannot find that it has been released yet. If any readers have any other information I would welcome the news.
