  • Alabama lawThis article will tell you about efforts in the Alabama State Legislature that will pave the way for unembalmed bodies to be transported out of the state of Alabama.  According to the article, it is currently lawful to bring unembalmed remains into the state, but illegal to transport them out of the state.
  • Tribe approves plansThis article will tell you about the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewas who recently approved a plan for the restoration of a Duluth, Minnesota, parcel into an indigenous cemetery.  Back in 2017 the Minnesota Department of Transportation uncovered burial remains, grave goods, and artifacts while building a highway bridge on the spot.  It now appears that a plan has been approved that will allow construction to re-start.  According to the article, $4.2 million of a $20 million budget for the arrangement has already been spent.
