Mississippi Funeral Home creates Wall of Memories

Ricky Holland
Corinthian Funeral home

Ricky Holland has been co-Owner and President of Corinthian Funeral Home for the past 25 years.  He loves his job, loves the people he has served, and is now going out of his way to make sure that no client of Corinthian Funeral Home is forgotten.

In an article published in the Daily Corinthian of Mississippi it is pointed out that Holland has a special feature set to be unveiled at his firm’s 25th anniversary on April 30, 2017.  Holland has searched out of the records every person he has served since his funeral home opened and is preparing framed lists, by year, naming all clients.

The “Wall of Memories” at the Corinthian Funeral Home will serve as a way that the community will also remember those people and they will not be forgotten according to Holland.  He says he fell in love with the funeral business while he was in college studying to be an accountant and he now views his job as more of a ministry

Funeral Director Daily take:  I’m always amazed at the way funeral directors can connect with their community, have it be in good taste, and still be a business advantage for them.  Having a “Wall of Honor” or a “Wall of Memory” is a good idea for business.  I can imagine when local families visit the mortuary for visitations they will take the time to look up their loved ones and remember them.

I’ve seen a funeral home that created a garden walk outside their building and put up monuments with client names carved into it.  Families loved it. . .there is also a private cemetery in Minnesota where military families can add their loved ones names to the military monuments for a small fee.  It has done wonders for retaining families to that metro location facility even though there family may have moved to a different part of town.

In this new era of social media and such, anything you can do to retain and reconnect  families to your facility will be a help.[wpforms id=”436″ title=”true” description=”true”]
