Pearl Harbor Memorial Closed Indefinitely

The Pearl Harbor Memorial spanning the USS Arizona

We recently learned just in time for Memorial Day that the memorial at Pearl Harbor that commemorates and recognizes the U.S.S. Arizona and its place in the 1941 surprise attack will be closed indefinitely.  Apparently, from the article that you can read here, some cracks in the floor of the memorial or the entry that leads on to it has necessitated such.

On any given day, an average of 4,500 people visit the memorial which spans the U.S.S. Arizona where there is believed to be 948 sailors still entombed in the ship.

The Pearl Harbor museum and visitor center remains open in Honolulu.
