CANA’s Certified Cremation Specialist Training opens regisitration in June, What’s new from NFDA’s podcast series, and some news from Anthem Partners

 

 

The Cremation Association of North America (CANA) has announced that the final cohort of the 2023 class for their Certified Cremation Specialist training may begin filing applications on June 1.  The program is an online program that spans 17 weeks and comprises eight courses.  According to the registration form that you can see here, participants will have the option to learn in a collaborative group fashion bringing out the best of community-based education or a student can learn in an independent approach in what CANA calls a “self-guided” method.

 

The Certified Cremation Specialist (CCS) course will include topics covering FTC complaince, engaging phone shoppers,  discussing embalming preferences, and more.  According to CANA, participants can earn up to 11 hours of continuing education credits across a variety of required categories.

The latest podcast in the NFDA “A Brush with Death” series is Podcast Episode #55 entitled “A Custom Built Calling“.  The podcast deals with the growing trend of individualized services and features Trey Ganem, the owner of Soulshine Industries, whom the NFDA information notes “has taken custom urn and casket design to the next level”.
