“You can’t tell the players without a scorecard”. . . Top read articles of the month

The “Most Read” article of the month for the past 30 days published by Funeral Director Daily had to do with a Louisiana acquisition. . . But we also published a listing that appeared in another publication of the largest funeral home companies in North America with that same article. While there is always interest in who’s buying whom. . . . I think the large readership of that article stemmed from the fact that this listing was included.
If you missed the article this is an opportunity to read it. . . .and look at that listing. And, we’ve included the next four most popular articles as a bonus!!
- Louisiana funeral home acquired. . . .more consolidation companies.
- The devastating effects of Direct Cremation on traditional funeral homes.
- Acquisitions: The price that is paid is all about “The present value of future cash-flow”.
- The shifting preneed trend and the need to make preneed a priority.
- Death Care Index (DCI) once again trails major indexes.
Finally, as the publisher of Funeral Director Daily (FDD) I simply want to Thank You for helping this little one-person publication with its growth. As of Saturday, when I wrote this article (after watching my Minnesota Gophers beat the Wolverines of Michigan) I noticed that FDD has had almost 20,000 pageviews this month (19,967 to be exact).
That’s a great month for FDD as we generally hit between 14,000 and 17,000 pageviews — we’ve landed over 20,000 only a couple of times. And, the average monthly numbers keep creeping up over the years and months and that makes me feel good that readers must like what I do. Thanks again.
Just for comparison sake, I went back to when I first started keeping statistics and noticed that in September 2020 FDD had 8,843 pageviews. Using that number, and September 2026’s number, we are growing at an annual clip of 20.9%. Thanks again and again as that is really satisfying to me. . . . . If you have any co-workers or colleagues who you think might enjoy Funeral Director Daily, please let them know. . .as you know, there is no cost to receive the daily e-mail.
You know. . . . . I grew up as just a small town kid who started working at about 8 years old with a newspaper route and “shagging” foul balls at softball tournaments. I’ve always “worked” and as I have eased into retirement simply sitting around, doing nothing, and watching TV did not interest me. Thanks for reading because researching and writing seems to keep me going and feeling purposeful . . . . . and I can do it on my own time and still find plenty of time for “retirement things” like golfing!!!!
Readers. . . .You’re the Best!!!
