Tukios moves forward by optimizing for GEO

It was announced last week by Tukios, a leading provider of funeral home websites, that their websites are now equiped to rank in AI searches.  According to Tukios, “this optimization makes all Tukios websites ready for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — the modern version of SEO — helping funeral homes get noticed by families using AI tools like CHatGPT or Claude”.

This should help your funeral home get noticed because “every time a site is published or updated this feature automatically creates a file with accurate, up-to-date details such as service pages, blog posts, and descriptions—skipping any unfinished or hidden pages. This makes it much easier for AI tools to understand and correctly feature the funeral home, linking directly to their website. . .”

In essence, Tukios’ GEO is designed to boost how well a funeral home appears in AI-driven search experiences.

Tukios also commented in the press release:

While many websites are not optimized for AI and often show incorrect or outdated information when queried, Tukios websites are ahead of the curve. These improvements have already been deployed to all Tukios customers and are a built-in feature of every Tukios website going forward—ensuring funeral homes are correctly represented across AI tools and platforms.”

Funeral Director Daily take:  I’ve mentioned it for a couple of months now, but it is really starting to take place — that is I believe Death Care is at a nexus of “Traditional versus Technological”.  I think that many consumers want to connect with Death Care providers online and the better your offerings are for those that want that situation the better provider your funeral home will be.

For some time now it has been all about SEO — Search Engine Optimization — in making sure that consumers see your funeral home when making queries about Death Care possibilities.  I think that is important. . . .but there is so much more to acquiring customers than being the “first on a list” of providers on a Google search.

This morning’s Funeral Director Daily article touched on that item when we linked a podcast that questioned how your relationship building and emotional connections might be more important than the SEO placement in acquiring future customers. . . . and Tukios’ new GEO feature will also help with that relationship and connection.
