Starmark acquires AMA Containers
It was announced earlier this week that Starmark, a leading manufacturer of innovative funeral products, has acquired AMA Containers. AMA was originally founded in 1991 as Airline Mortuary Associates.
Starmark, according to the press release, was founded in 2004 and since that time have provided what they call “Sensible Solutions®” for cremation. The press release also states “Starmark prides itself on providing environmentally conscious, innovative, economical, and high-quality products. . .”
Jon Bumbaugh is the founder of AMA and the press release says this about him. . . “Bumbaugh had previously worked in the airline industry where he developed a professional mortuary shipping program. His airline experience played an important role in pioneering many of the shipping products and processes currently used in funeral service for transporting human remains when he founded AMA Containers.”
Finally, in a prepared remark, Starmark President Justin Davis made this comment, “Following the acquisition, I am delighted that Jon will stay on and contribute to the Starmark team as a consultant. We value the airline mortuary shipping experience that Jon brings to Starmark.”
