Continuing to move forward. . . Thank You!!!

Today I want to use the Afternoon Edition to simply say “Thank You” to our readers and our sponsors.  I’m a one-man band at Funeral Director Daily and when I started blogging I never knew what kind of reception that I would have.  After an almost 35-year career as a funeral home owner and funeral director others felt that I had some wisdom that could be shared with younger members of our profession and encouraged me to blog.  So, I gave blogging a try and learned that I liked writing and doing the research that keeps me involved in funeral service.

I’m amazed, humbled, and thankful for all of the people that open up my emails and read my articles.  As of today there are about 3,320 followers who daily look for my articles via e-mail, Facebook, and Twitter.  Thank you so much for subscribing.  What is truly amazing is that over the past 30 days we have had almost twice that many individual unique visitors to Funeral Director Daily. . .a total of 5,978.  That tells us that people who don’t subscribe are increasingly finding the articles via Google or other search engines. . .and some of them grow into subscribers.

In the last eight days Funeral Director Daily has twice broke our daily record for page views.  On Monday, July 31, we had 1,082 page views and just one week later we had 1,087 page views.  Thanks again so much.

Funeral Director Daily

To my readers — please keep reading and let me know what kind of articles you enjoy.  In general, Funeral Director Daily will give “straight-forward” death care related articles without the macabre, sensationalized, or comedic “death” articles others might use simply to lure in clicks.

To our sponsors — thanks for supporting Funeral Director Daily.  Special thanks to my original sponsors — Crowne Vault and ASD — who recognized that funeral home and cemetery operators would enjoy reading Funeral Director Daily.  You guys were an inspiration to keep me going in the early days when I had my doubts about anybody wanting to read what I wrote.

It is the sponsors who allow for the “free subsciption” base of Funeral Director Daily and it is the sponsors who help cover the technical and distribution costs of bringing you these articles.  You can thank them by giving them a chance at your business.

And, if you are in the death care profession or supply the death care profession and would like to reach those who make decisions, we have a couple of available positions for new sponsors.  You will find, like our existing sponsors, that you can reach those busy decision makers on a daily basis at less than 2 cents per impression and with daily impressions you can also, over time, build up “Top of Mind Awareness” among busy professionals.

So, thanks again.  Thanks for reading.  If you’ll continue to do so and invite others to subscribe, I’ll continue to do my best to research and bring articles of interest to the funeral, cremation, and cemetery professions.

Tom, your articles are my first source of daily news for the industry and what’s more valuable is the insight and opinion you add which is always considered and balanced. Thank you for the work you put into providing this for us all!

    Tom,

We met back in 2014 at the Johnson Memorial. You are definitely one of the ‘Good Guys’ in our industry. Appreciate the articles and insight. Congratulations on your success!

    G’Day Tom,

YOU have a wonderful product to offer us all in and around the Funeral marketplace – your Gentleman style is balanced and fair- with NO B.S. ! – NO EMOTION or attitude and just as you say & offer Tom, … “straight-forward” death care related articles without the macabre, sensationalized, or comedic “death” articles others might use simply to lure in clicks.

NEVER have I opened your FDD daily messages and reporting & realized after reading all I have just wasted 10 minutes of a busy day and wasted time I could well use elsewhere – or never get back.

A breath of fresh air you are Tom – non self serving, no baits- just GENUINE care and global reporting as if it is-was straight from ” The Horses Mouth “- thanks Tom.

If I may, – thanks also to your early ( and current ) supporters who helped fund your vision, dream and give you resources to stay your course.

We look forward Tom, to soon becoming a permanent Advertiser / Supporter of your TOP SHELF work and style and appealing to your valued readership who want the STEAK without the sizzle !

    Cheers mate,
    Mark T.

Thank you for your great and informative articles.
    I really enjoy them.
Coincidentally I have a close friend that is from Glenwood, MN. So when I saw the Viking in one of your articles I remembered our trips to your part of the country.
    Good people come from Minnesota!!!
    Thanks again,
    Teri Featheringill

Good to hear the viewer numbers are x2.
That’s likely to do with all the M&A stuff going on but, that’s ok.
    It’s interesting.

I’m not in the industry but, I’ve been an investor off and on since the 90’s.
I’ve also had family members pass and used the services of the companies being talked about in Canada and Australia.
The services were amazing and always made me feel better after.
That’s a pretty amazing thing considering what the event is.
Well done to all that work in the biz.
    You are really helping people.

It may not seem like that day after day and your earning a living etc. but, that’s a pretty cool job.
Thanks to everyone in the biz for their efforts.
