Michigan Governor Assembles Team to Look into Funeral Home Problems

According to the Associated Press, in an article that you can read here, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder announced last Thursday that he is adding three new regulators to the State’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs mortuary team.  That will bring the total to 7.  The regulators have oversight over funeral homes, funeral directors, and preneed funeral contracts.

Snyder also announced he is putting together a special team that will include members from multiple state agencies that will investigate recent allegations of improper body disposal and prepaid funeral violations.

As we have reported previously on Funeral Director Daily, funeral homes in the Detroit area have recently had neglected human remains discovered on their property.
