Milestone Funeral Partners adds funeral home acquisitions
According to the Milestone Funeral Partners website, which you can access here, and information placed on social media, the Maine-based funeral home operator and consolidator added four funeral home businesses to their number in the last couple of months.
Announced on August 8 on the company website was information about the acquisition of the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home of Barre, Vermont. Another announcement on social media made this comment about the transaction:
“We’re pleased to welcome the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home team to the Milestone Funeral Partners family!
Serving the Barre, VT community since 1908, the Whitcomb and Hooker names have been synonymous with compassion, care, and tradition. In their early days, during the 1930’s, their firm served as Barre’s first dedicated funeral facility, marking a shift from home-based services to modern funeral homes. They even pioneered motorized hearses and today, are located at their Academy Street location, where their legacy of service spans generations.
We’re honored to join together to continue this proud history—caring for the families of Central Vermont, as they have for so many years.”
“We are so proud to welcome the Avery-Storti Funeral Home & Crematory of Wakefield, Rhode Island to the Milestone family.
For more than 160 years, Avery-Storti has been a trusted name in South County. First opened in 1863 as the Slocum Funeral Home during the era of horse-drawn hearses, the firm has grown through the dedication of the Ineson, Avery, Webster, and now Storti families. Today, under the leadership of Peter Storti and his son Joshua, the Avery-Storti team continues a long tradition of providing personal, compassionate, and professional service to their community.
From embracing traditional values to offering innovations such as the South County Cremation Care Center—the area’s only onsite crematory—their commitment to families has remained unwavering through generations.
We are honored to have Peter, Joshua, and their dedicated staff join the Milestone team as we work together to serve families with dignity, care, and compassion.”
More recently, the acquisition of the Lombardo Funeral Home of the Greater Buffalo, New York market was announced on October 2 and on October 3 Milestone Funeral Partners added to their website and group of funeral homes the Sansone Funeral Home of Bristol, Rhode Island.
