Matthews Aurora spins off Canadian facility

In this press release issued by Victoriaville & Co. of Edmunston, New Brunswick, Canada, last week you can read about their acquisition of  Alliance St-Laurent Casket, previously a subsidiary of Matthews Aurora Funeral Solutions.

According to a quote from Steve Gackenbach, Group President of Matthews Memorialization, “This divestiture represents a manufacturing consolidation as part of our integration of the Aurora Casket Company.  We continue to invest to deliver world class manufacturing capabilities and superior product quality at our core manufacturing plants.

Alain Dumont, President of Victoriaville & Co. commented, “We are confident that ASL (Alliance St-Laurent) is a great fit for us, and we look forward to growing the business and meeting the ever-changing needs of today’s funeral professionals.”

More about Victoriaville & Co. – The company was founded in 1907 and committed exclusively to the funeral industry since 1948.  The company employs people in Canada, the United States, and Great Britain.

According to information from the Victoriaville & Co. web-site that you can reach here, they are the third largest manufacturer of wooden caskets in North America.  They also offer their clients a group of products known as “the Essentials” which consist of metal and fabric covered caskets, urns, and memorialization products such as jewelry and keepsakes.
