It’s Fall. . . .time to think about your Continuing Education credits
It’s funny how it happens. . . Yesterday was Summer and on Labor Day Monday I woke up to 50 degree temperatures in my Minnesota community. It made for a great Monday morning run but also reminded me of the new season upon us.
When the calendar turns to September I get jolted into thinking about cooler weather, beautiful Autumn days, football, fertilizing my lawn for the upcoming winter season, and, believe it or not, checking to see that I’ve got my funeral director continuing education credits for the calendar year. I’m fortunate because even if I don’t have those credits yet I have the opportunity to attend the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association Fall Meetings with credits available, the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) convention with credits available, and a general litany of course offerings by some of our friends and associates online.
Here’s a sampling of what is available for online credits in September being offered by the NFDA and our good friends at Wilbert throught their WilbertEDU program offerings.

Thursday, September 19 — From WilbertEDU: “If cremation is so simple, why are we getting sued?”. 2:00 pm Easter Time (1:00 pm Central Time). 1 hour webinar, 1 CEU credit offered. Free of charge.
Here’s what WilbertEDU says about this CEU opportunity: “It seems we hear more and more about cremation issues. An issue can be a simple complaint – all the way to a lawsuit. And with more and more cremations, it only makes sense there will be more and more issues. But cremation is simple, and easy – so why are there any issues at all? This presentation looks at three areas of cremation and provides the associated potential risks, and more importantly, the safeguards, so that you can be better prepared and hopefully avoid the issues.”

Finally, here is another learning opportunity offered up this afternoon with no CEU credit. It’s offered by NFDA and features Johnson Consulting’s CEO Jake Johnson presenting under the title “How to enhance the Customer Experience and the value it brings to your organization.”
Here’s what NFDA says about this webinar: “Employee development and retention is key to the success of our business, ultimately maintaining or increasing the value of the business. In this presentation Jake covers customer experience (CX) culture and training, how to implement it, and how the impacts of improved customer service affect the value of business.”
