The future of Death Tech from Forbes, LGBTQ funeral home settlement, Arlington Wreaths Across America

Only a couple of days after I gave you my thoughts on what new companies might be winners in the death care profession I stumbled across an article from Forbes entitled, “The Future of Death Tech”.  Today’s afternoon edition of Funeral Director Daily brings you that article as well as information on an apparent financial settlement in the Aimee Stephens Supreme Court work rules case, and an update on the always popular Wreaths Across America day at Arlington National Cemetery. Heading into the weekend . . . .

It’s Friday and we are heading into the weekend preceding the Thanksgiving holiday.  With all of the death care companies reporting earnings reports in the last couple of weeks and our coverage of those we have a few articles that we feel our readers should have access to, yet we are not able to feature them in individual articles. So, here are some links that you can check out on your own this weekend. . . . .and they bring […]

It’s Wreaths Across America Week

As a child and even as a young funeral director, I distinctly remember a plaque in our family funeral home that stated, “Show me the manner in which a nation cares for its dead and I will measure with mathematical exactness the tender mercies of it’s people, their respect for the laws of the land, and their loyalty to high ideals“. That quote is attributed to Sir William Ewert Gladstone, Prime Minister of Great Britain beginning in 1868.  It’s something […]

It’s Veterans Day. . .Thank you for your service!!

Honoring and remembering is something funeral homes help families do.  Virtually all funeral homes also have a special relationship with the military veterans in their community because of the service that these men and women provide at the funeral, memorial, or graveside service of one of their comrades. We just want to make sure that we take a moment today to say “Thank You for your service” to all military personnel — whether active, retired, or deceased.  You have all […]

There is still time to volunteer to help lay the thousands of wreaths on the graves […]

Memorial Day 2018

Memorial Day 2018.  God Bless America!!  Today’s Funeral Director Daily column consists of a re-print of three different articles we have done within the past year.  The first article deals with the 3rd Infantry Regiment – known as the Old Guard – who annually place flags at all veteran graves at Arlington National Cemetery. The other two articles feature non-profits that also help honor our veterans — Bugles Across America and Wreaths Across America.  If your funeral home is not […]
