Funeral Directors and Their Community

It is pretty common for local funeral home owners to be involved in their local Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, American Legion and the like.  It is also pretty common that as these business minded folk earn respect in their communities they are asked to serve on school boards, city councils, and bank boards.  Those type of volunteer commitments are just what it takes to be a leader in funeral service and your community.

Every once in a while we see funeral directors step up even more in their communities.  Today we bring you this article about Indiana funeral home owner Jeff Stout and his wife Tami.  The article tells how the two of them, owners, or part owners, of at least three funeral homes have moved in and purchased a local ice cream legend store that has been under the same family ownership for over 52 years in Kokomo.

Stout not only will be arranging funerals in Indiana he now will be serving up ice cream at a store that the 54 year old can remember going to his whole life.  Tami Stout will join the day to day operations of the Cone Palace.
