Foundation Partners adds Denver locations

It was announced last week that Orlando based funeral and cemetery operating company Foundation Partners Group had acquired All-States Cremation and its three associated businesses in the state of Colorado.  The acquisition marks Foundation Partners entrance into the rapidly changing Colorado market.  You can read more about the transaction from this press release.

All-States Cremation, which also operates All Veterans Funeral & Cremation, All Mortuary of Colorado, and A Basic Cremation, were founded in 1986 in Denver, Colorado by Tom and Diane Kamm.

The acquisition seems to have been well received by both sides as Tommie Kamm of All-States Cremation is quoted, “I’m excited that Foundation Partners can take us to a level that we’ve only dreamed of in the past.”  And, Erin Whitaker, Senior Vice president of Business Development at Foundation Partners stated, “All-States has a long, rich history in Colorado and represents the kind of innovative, independent funeral operator that makes a perfect partner for us.”

Funeral Director Daily take:  This latest acquisition by Foundation Partners Group follows the same line of business thinking that Funeral Director Daily realized about the company in 2017.  That is, they seem to be highly specific in their targeting of large, highly percentage cremation businesses for their growing stable of brands.  It is a strategy that we uncovered in this 2017 article on the company and a strategy that we believe is a long-term winner.

Related:  Park Lawn Corporation also announced last week that they had completed their previously announced acquisition of Denver based Horan & McConaty Funeral Services.  Horan & McConaty Funeral Services operates two cemeteries and eleven funeral homes in the Denver metropolitan area.  Here is the Park Lawn press release.

The Colorado market:  It is interesting to note the interest in the Colorado death care acquisition market.  In just the last two years, in addition to the above acquisitions, it must be noted that Service Corporation International purchased the 13 locations of Allnut Funeral Service located in Colorado.
